Argentina ranks fifth worldwide in Think Tanks and was nominated by the Pensylvania University as the regional subject expert.

The country has the highest registered number of patents in the last 40 years in the region, and of Nobel Prizes in Sciences in Latinamerica and it has the third place in terms of number of researchers (behind United States and Spain).

Argentina was the only country in Latinamerica that was awarded with one of eighteen associated positions and ranked as the most innovative.
It also has 35 research institutions in biosciencies operated by public and private universities, the highest number of biotechnology companies per capita in Latinamerica and is leader in applications of genetically modified organisms (OGM).
